Rudolf Duraner – 2 Stage NH3 Ammonia Gas Scrubbing System with 7.500 m3/h Capacity – AISI316L

The design, manufacturing, field assembly, automation and commissioning of a two-stage gas washing system made of AISI316L material for the removal of pure NH3 – Ammonia vapor released in the reaction from the reactors and neutralization and release to the atmosphere in the new textile chemicals factory of Rudolf Duraner company established in Bursa Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone.

The system is designed to be fully automatic and automated and can also be operated manually in order to provide application flexibility.

The system capacity is 7,500 m3/h and it operates depending on 4 reactors in total. Due to the exothermic nature of the reactions taking place in the reactor and the use of H2SO4 – Sulfuric Acid as neutralization chemical, it has become necessary to cool the circulation fluid. The circulation chamber can be cooled by using a cooling tower or chiller and is manufactured with double walls instead of a serpentine to increase the surface area of the coolant. The equipment and fan selected in critical areas were used as EXPROOF.

Freeze protection is applied for winter conditions in the system. All system temperatures are controlled by analog PT100 sensors.

Approximately 2.000 liters of pure ammonia gas is produced during the reaction period and the value read on the Ammonia Sensor placed in the chimney is 5 ppm.
